Rock pooling with the experts is a great way to explore the shore this summer. Below is a full list of events where you can find amazing rock pool creatures and learn all about them.

Shore Thing Public Survey
Join a Shore Thing public survey this summer to learn about your rocky shore habitat and collect valuable data on non-native and climate change indicator species.
All welcome. Events include a general rock pool ramble to explore the rocky shore and a 20 minute timed species search for 22 species selected as either climate change indicators or non-native species. Please wear appropriate footwear (e.g. wellies) and bring clothing for all types of weather conditions. Join the Wild Lizard Ranger for a rummage in the rock-pools to discover the strange creatures that live there. Then, join in with activities in the tent at the back of the beach.

Booking is essential. Join Marine experts, Polzeath volunteers, and National Trust rangers on one of our famous explorations of the shore! From Easter through to autumn, you have a chance to discover the wonders of the rockpools, from rare Celtic seaslugs to stalked jellyfish and an abundance of crabs. Free for Polzeath Marine Conservation Group members, £2 for all others. Meet: Polzeath Marine Centre, in the heart of the village opposite the pitch and put.
